When I was taken to him for the usual perfunctory introduction, I was immediately taken in by his charm,
intelligence, ecumenical spirit and detribalised nature. He had an unusual understanding of the Nigerian
geopolitics and his intellectual offerings and projections about Nigeria have always had the uncanny precision of a Swiss watchmaker.

He loved life but loved people and intellectual life more than any individual i have ever met.

He was at home in virtually all discipline, completely guileless, frank to a fault; but above all, he was intellectually daring. He loved God and God in turn gave him special grace.
