I received the news of Emeka Obasi’s passing with great sadness and upset. He had visited my Ikoyi residence many times over the last seven years and latterly bringing with him the special gadget with which he battled his health challenge.

We always had engaging conversations on the affairs of our country Nigeria and other African countries.
I pray that the Almighty will grant his wife and family the equanimity with which to bear the loss. And I join the group of his friends in mourning the exit of this quiet and unassuming intellectual who had a deep interest in the media as a journalist and a publisher. May his soul Rest In Peace.
